Welcome to
Waterford Birth Centre

Whare Whakawhānau Pēpi

Kia ora. Congratulations on your pregnancy.
Waterford offers a safe nurturing centre at this
special time for you and your family/whanau.

As of Wednesday 18th March 2020, there is a temporary restriction of visitors to Waterford Birth Centre to one partner or support person only.

The partner or support person may stay for the labour and birth only, or if they choose to remain for the postnatal stay, they will be expected to remain on premises for the whole postnatal period, not come and go, to minimize exposure to COVID-19 coroavirus disease.

Waterford Birth Centre will provide breakfast for partners during this pandemic, and they can purchase meals from Lonestar at $22 per meal from the Waterford menu, or bring ready to eat food.

This is to protect mothers and newborns, to reduce exposure to our staff and to keep our facility operating.

Thank you for your help in keeping all our mothers and babies safe.

For further information go to the New Zealand Ministry of Health website – https://www.health.health.govt.nz

PLEASE NOTE: Tours of Waterford are also postponed from today Wednesday 18th March until further notice.

Full maternity care from your first antenatal class to a healthy baby.

Waterford Birth Centre offers you the whole experience of care from confirmation of pregnancy to discharge from our facility.

Contact us when looking for a midwife. There are many to choose from including midwives with clinics at Waterford.

All year-round antenatal classes are facilitated by qualified childbirth educators for you, your partner and/or birth support to gain confidence,
knowledge and trust in birth and early parenting.

Waterford Birth Centre offers up to date, safe facilities to meet your primary birthing needs. After birth, relax in our large comfortable
postnatal room for two days of nurturing care from our experienced staff midwives.

Once home your LMC will continue care. Come join other mums at the monthly La Leché League meetings held on-site.

All these services are free to NZ residents.

Tour our facilities

You are very welcome to visit, and we’d love to meet you on one of our weekly tours, see our FAQ’s.

Our facilities are described below by Tegan and Isaac –

“The birthing room was so relaxing, great space and facilities. After birth the room we stayed in was so nice,
big and quiet with comfy beds and couches and a great little kitchen area”.
