Research shows that well women choosing to labour and birth at Waterford (a primary birth centre), have a higher normal birth rate with better outcomes for mum and baby.
Of the women who started labour at Waterford Birth Centre, 97% birthed vaginally. The caesarean section rate was 3%, compared to the national rate of 27%.
Spacious birth rooms provide labouring women freedom to move through the stages of labour in their own way.
